Very honest and friendly auto shop! We got a diagnosis from our car's dealership saying we needed to make some very costly repairs/replacement of parts, when in reality very few things needed work. They were quick and thorough in their description of why things needed/didn't need work done. I felt like I understood everything completely. Great shop! |

Parrott is the Best! I had an oil leak. Went to a different auto repair shop (I won't name) that said my power steering pump was leaking and I had to have the pump, the rack and pinion and the hoses replaced at a cost of $1,400. Decided on a second opinion. Was lucky enough to find Parrott. They actually cleaned the mess off the engine (which the other place never did) to see where the leak was coming from. Had to replace the serpentine belt because it was fouled by the mess and unreliable. This took some time because a lot of the mess was belt dressing. Solvent wouldn't cut it. Cost? $160. I drove for a week to give the leak some time to show up. Discovered it was a sensor cover plate over the cam on the side of the engine. Cost to repair? $130. Total? $290. Saved me over $1,100! Parrott took the time to actually "FIND" the leak. I Highly recommend Parrott. Good honest people who care about the customer. :) |

A certain "well respected" auto repair shop on Main St. in East Mesa looked at what appeared to be an oil leak in my engine and said my power steering pump, my rack and pinion and connecting hoses needed to be replaced at a cost of $1,400. They did not take the time to show me how they came to this conclusion. I decided to get a second opinion. Looked online and found several good reviews for Parrott Discount Auto Repair. Ray Parrott looked at the leak, did a little testing right there, and was not convinced of their decision. Had my car lifted, removed the tire and disassembled a bit of the body fascia to look closer. Had the "oil" cleaned off so he could see where the leak was coming from. He determined that some of it was a gasket around a small plate on the side of the engine with a sensor inside. The rest of it seemed to be belt dressing sprayed heavily by someone else that got all over the side of the engine making it look like it was worse than it was. Cost to repair? About $200. This, plus replacing the serpentine belt and all the cleaning to see what the real problem was. Saved me over $1,000 and needless repairs. Ray took the time to show me exactly what he found. This is a good man who actually cares about his customers pocket book. "Thank you, Ray. You are now "My Mechanic". |
